Le estoy diciendo que es importante considerar, vengo de América Latina, en América Latina aquellos que crecimos en estos Países, si tuvieran padres como yo, o abuelos como tú, nos cuentan las historias de algunas de las cosas que sucedieron en América Latina. La CIA es América Latina, los marines estadounidenses son de América Latina, entraron en esos Países y decidieron que bajo la Enmienda Platt y la Doctrina Monroe básicamente gobernarían América Latina y nos decían qué debíamos hacer.
Hoy América Latina está pasando por, supongo que está despertando poco a poco, es un poco diferente.
Es interesante, tu País por ejemplo, está tratando de luchar contra eso y de las dificultades que tuvieron lugar en toda América Central durante la Administración Reagan y otras épocas.
¿Cómo está América Latina adaptando el mensaje de los BRICS para asegurarse de que lo escuche, y hacer que lo comparen favorablemente con la horrible experiencia que les han dejado los Estados Unidos de América, y otros, a través del Colonialismo?

Quisiera también hacer un poco de referencia a algunos puntos que mencionaste anteriormente. Decías, ¿qué sentimos nosotros, que, en Estados Unidos, en Europa, la mayoría de la gente ni siquiera sabe qué son los BRICS? Creo que estás poniendo una cuestión demasiada sofisticada, porque la mayoría de la población de Estados Unidos no sabe dónde está Canadá.
Entonces, creo que sí hay que reconocer que los BRICS han tenido un éxito importante, porque si no, no estuvieran los ataques permanentes, del Gobierno estadounidense, de los Gobiernos europeos, contra este bloque que viene tomando cada vez más fuerza.
Yo quiero también reiterar que nosotros hemos sufrido la intervención estadounidense prácticamente desde que Nicaragua es República. Tuvimos un Presidente autoproclamado, un invasor estadounidense, William Walker, en los años 1800, cuando Nicaragua acababa de tener su Independencia.
Luego hemos tenido la intervención de Estados Unidos permanentemente en nuestro País, y la defensa de nuestra Soberanía a partir de la Lucha de Sandino, de la Lucha de la Revolución; y después, por supuesto, la guerra de los años 80 que fue impuesta por Estados Unidos, por Reagan.
Y ahora, desde el año 2007, que nuestro Presidente, el Comandante Daniel Ortega retorna al Gobierno, el ataque permanente de Estados Unidos, de Europa, contra nuestro Proyecto Político, que culminó incluso en un intento de Golpe de Estado en el año 2018.
Yo quiero reiterar eso que es importante, porque los Medios de Comunicación fueron especialmente atacados durante ese intento de Golpe de Estado; Medios de Comunicación fueron quemados, trataron de asesinar a los Periodistas nicaragüenses, y todo eso con la complicidad, el apoyo financiero también de Estados Unidos, de Europa, y la complicidad de los Medios dominados por esos intereses que trabajaban en Nicaragua.
Eso es algo sumamente importante que yo quiero traerlo también a esta Mesa, estamos hablando de estos Medios que son los que se consideran “Mainstream”, como dicen, o como ahora lo llaman, los “Legacy Media”, también en Estados Unidos.
Y esos Medios que se habían instalado en nuestros Países, en toda América Latina, recordemos que han sido históricamente financiados por USAID, por la CIA, y eso ha sido expuesto a la luz, por nosotros desde el principio, pero también ahora por el mismo Gobierno estadounidense con todo este esfuerzo que estaba haciendo Elon Musk, y todo lo que salió ahí.

Pero déjame hacerte una pregunta: ¿Cómo es posible ahora, que el Pueblo suyo o el Pueblo de cualquier País en América Latina va a aceptar, a China, a Rusia o a cualquier otro País que viene ahí, sin pensar : Nos van a hacer las mismas cosas que nos hicieron los gringos.

Por cierto, mi pregunta era, ¿qué le dirás a tu gente en América Latina?, que dice: Sí, recuerdo la última vez que un Imperio entró aquí, los españoles y los americanos, y básicamente nos acosaron y se aprovecharon de nosotros; nos abusaron, se robaron nuestros tesoros y mataron a muchos de nosotros, como en Guatemala durante la Guerra Civil, donde murieron unas 200,00 personas.
Entonces, ¿cómo mira ahora la gente de América Latina a Rusia y China, y cualquiera de estos otros Países que vienen y nos dicen “queremos ayudarles y no vamos a hacer lo mismo”, y que no sea lo mismo que hicieron los gringos?

Yo diría, poniéndolo en práctica, no solo palabras, estamos trabajando con Rusia, estamos trabajando con China, y la Cooperación se basa en el respeto mutuo, y la Cooperación es para Proyectos de Desarrollo, la Cooperación es para Proyectos de Salud, la Cooperación es para la Infraestructura.
Estamos trabajando con China, y estamos trabajando también con el Grupo de Medios Chinos, con CGTN, con Rusia Hoy, con Sputnik, para el fortalecimiento de las capacidades de los nicaragüenses, Instituciones de Medios...

Sí. Las Encuestas superan el 80% de la población nicaragüense, apoyan el trabajo con China y Rusia, eso es interesante, y sí es bastante positivo porque el trabajo está ahí.
Con Rusia hemos construido el primer Instituto para producir vacunas contra la gripe. Eso es algo que ningún otro País en América Central tiene. Todas las vacunas contra la gripe que nosotros tenemos en Nicaragua es producido por la empresa nicaragüense, que es el Instituto Mechnikov de América Latina.
Con China estamos construyendo un Proyecto de Infraestructura, estamos construyendo carreteras. Nosotros estamos construyendo Energía, así que básicamente es un Proyecto de Desarrollo.
Y nunca hemos tenido, de Rusia, de China, cualquier imposición, así que por eso es tan diferente a la experiencia que tuvimos con los Estados Unidos y con Europa históricamente.
Quería decir una cosa más. Por supuesto que mencionaste YouTube, el podcast, como esta nueva ola de alternativa y algunos podrían llamar Medios Independientes, pero todos tienen una agenda; quiero decir que menciona a Joe Rogan apoyó a Trump; así que todos tienen una agenda que no podemos confiar.

No deberíamos creer que sean independientes, todos tienen una agenda. Así que por eso es que debemos permanecer fuertes y mantener una estrecha cooperación con nuestros buenos amigos, China, Rusia; también tenemos Cooperaciones con Hispantv de Irán.
Así que tenemos que mantener esta conexión cercana, comunicaciones cercanas, porque tenemos que ser muy claros, de mente clara, segura, los Medios tienen que ser lo más objetivos posible, pero tienen que promover lo que es correcto, lo que es justo, y creemos que estamos en ese camino.

I point out to you that it's important to consider... I come from Latin America, in Latin America those of us who grew up in those countries, if they had parents like me, or perhaps grandparents for you, telling us stories of some of the things that happened in Latin America. The CIA in Latin America, the U.S. Marines in Latin America, they went into those countries and decided that under the Platt Amendment for example, or the Monroe Doctrine, that basically they would govern Latin America and they were telling us what to do.
Today Latin America is in transition, I guess it's waking up little by little, it's a little different.
It's interesting, for example, that your country is trying to fight against that history, for example, the difficulties that took place all over Central America during the Reagan Administration and at other times.
How is Latin America assimilating the BRICS message so to make sure they hear it so that they can compare it favorably with the horrible experience left to them by the United States of America, and others, through colonialism?

I would like also to make some reference to other points you mentioned earlier. You were asking what we think about the fact that, in the United States, in Europe, most people don't even know what the BRICS are? I think your question may be too sophisticated, because most of the population of the United States don’t even know where Canada is.
Even so, I think it must be recognized that the BRICS have been an important success, because if not, we would not see the permanent attacks, by the US government, by the European governments, against this bloc which has been gaining more and more strength.
I would also like to emphasize that we have suffered from US intervention practically since Nicaragua became a Republic. We had a self-proclaimed president, a US invader, William Walker, in the 1850s, when Nicaragua had not long been independeny.
Subsequently, we have had permanent intervention by the United States in our Country and the defense of our Sovereignty with the Struggle of Sandino, then with the Struggle for the Revolution; and then, of course, the war of the 80s that was imposed by the United States, by Reagan.
And now, since 2007, when our Copresident, Comandante Daniel Ortega returned to government, we have had the permanent attack by the United States, of Europe, against our Political Project, which culminated in the attempted coup d'état in 2018.
I want to reiterate something that is important, because the Media were the special target of attacks during that coup attempt; media outlets were burned, they tried to assassinate Nicaraguan journalists, and all this with the complicity, financial support both from the United States, from Europe, and the complicity of the Media dominated by those interests that operated then in Nicaragua.
Something else extremely important that I also want to bring to this discussion is that we are talking about these
Media that are considered “Mainstream”, as they say, or as they now call them too in the United States, the “Legacy Media”.
And those Media have been installed in our countries, throughout Latin America, let's not forget that historically they have been financed by USAID, by the CIA, and that has been exposed by us and brought to light from the beginning, but also now by the US government itself with all this effort that Elon Musk brought about, and everything that came out as a result.

But let me ask you a question: Why do you think now that your People or the People, of any country in Latin America are going to accept China, Russia or any other country that arrives there, without thinking: They are going to do the same things to us that the Gringos did to us?

I would say, putting it into practice, not just words, we are working with Russia, we are working with China, and Cooperation is based on mutual respect, and Cooperation is for Development Projects, Cooperation is for Health Projects, Cooperation is for Infrastructure.
We are working with China, and we are also working with the Chinese Media Group, with CGTN, with Russia Today, with Sputnik, to strengthen the capacities of Nicaraguans, Media Institutions...

Yes. Opinion polls show that over 80% of the Nicaraguan population, support the work with China and Russia, which is interesting, and yes it's quite positive because the work is there for all to see.
With Russia we have built the first Institute to produce ‘flu vaccines. That is something that no other country in Central America has. All the ‘flu vaccines that we have in Nicaragua are produced by the Mechnikov Institute of Latin America which is a Nicaraguan company.
With China we are building Infrastructure Projects, we are building roads. We are building Energy infrastructure, so basically these is a Development Projects.
And neither Russia or China have sought to impose on us and that's why it's so different from the experience we had with the United States and with Europe historically.
I want to say one more thing. Of course you mentioned YouTube, and podcasts, as this new wave of alternative and what some might call Independent Media, but everyone has their agenda; I mean as you mentioned, Joe Rogan supported Trump; so everyone has an agenda that we can't trust.

We should not believe these media are independent, everyone has an agenda. So that's why we must remain strong and maintain close cooperation with our good friends from China and Russia; we also have cooperation with Iran's Hispantv.
So we have to maintain this close connection, close communication, because we have to be very clear, clear-minded and confident, the Media has to be as objective as possible, but they should promote what is right, what is just, and we believe that we are on that path.
